Well, here we go:
I have a cold. The kind of cold that makes your red nose stream until you wonder whether there can be any liquid left in your body; your eyes water so your husband wonders if you are weeping at the Big Bang Theory; your whole body ache as if you've done more exercise than you've done in the last year. It's a big one and I'm not pleased.
However, on the plus side, spring is busy springing outside. The sun is shining and the daffodils in my pots are starting to poke their optimistic noses through the earth. There's no sign of the ones in the flower beds, but perhaps they know that daffodils aren't meant to be up for another few weeks yet. So, I'm going to sit in this patch of sunshine and do a little bit of nothing for a while. I might eat up some of these Christmas Licorice Allsorts though. They are renowned for their vitamin C content, aren't they?

Not such a secret follower! Delighted to be your first follower. Love, Dad
ReplyDeleteHello! How exciting! I didn't realise that you were seriously thinking of doing this. I wonder if you'll be more assiduous at it than your big sister?
ReplyDeletePoor coldy daughter! Hugs from Mum xxxx
Hello. Well, you told me you thought I should and I'm a (semi) obedient daughter. I have no idea if I'll really manage it, but I'll give it a go. B xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm following you from your mom's blog!
ReplyDeleteI have also just hopped over from your Mum`s blog! I hope the horrible cold soon passes.
ReplyDeleteChristmas liquorice allsorts are not only stuffed with vitamin C, they are also calorie free. Hope your cold gets better soon and look forward to reading more from you!
ReplyDeleteI'm also from your mom's blog... get well soon x
ReplyDeleteDaughter 2! How fun to see you blogging -- now I can stalk the whole family LOL! (I got really excited when I saw that Mr. Life commented and it looked like there was a link to a blog ;-) ).
ReplyDeleteI hope that pesky cold goes away soon. At least you live in an exciting place -- you know, to take your mind off of the runny nose!
I see you have your Mum's sense of humour!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from your Mum's blog and I am willing to share my Neo Citran with you.
Your mother sent me. I loved your Advent calendar and as the mother of a Londoner groom-to-be and actor daughter-in-law to be, have been watching with interest!
ReplyDeleteWell, spring coming AND licorice all sorts, you just have to look on the bright side, there is no sign of either in Cheshire, alas! I am very obedient and yes, your mother told me to come! Please get better very soon :)
ReplyDeletePopped over from your mom's blog to say hello and wish you a speedy recovery from your cold! I don't know about those licorice thingies because I'm from New York... but I can definitely advise taking Vitamin D for a speedy recovery. 8-)
ReplyDeleteI am also here after your Mum mentioned you on her blog. Your first post sounds just like your Mum, so you've obviously inherited her talent for writing! Hope your cold disappears soon; colds are miserable no matter which side of the world you are on. In spite of our sunshine, colds and flu are still the pits Down Under!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous of your spring springing-here in Ohio, winter is coming-gray and bleak skies are on their way. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI popped over from Mum's blog to say hi too!
ReplyDeleteHello Daughter 2 (sorry, I will always think of you as Daughter 2), and welcome to the blogosphere! I see Mr Life signed on as RWD ... Does that stand for RailWayDad? I wonder.
ReplyDeleteHello all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind messages. You'll be glad to know that my cold has cleared up nicely and that I've managed to post a second blog post! Quite an achievement. Suse, RWD should definitely stand for RailWayDad - I'll start calling him that.
